The 8 Hr. Hands-On/Practical Skills training course is available to ABPA-SA members sponsored by Bac-Flo Unlimited, Inc. This TCEQ approved course provides the 8 hours of practical skills training required by TCEQ for BPAT license renewal. Member prerequisites: must attend at least 5 meetings per year with minimum 16 meeting hours.

One gauge certification is available to each ABPA-SA member once a year at either BAVCO in San Antonio or Bac-Flo Unlimited in Boerne. A gauge calibration report verifying annual certification referencing gauge serial number is provided to the gauge owner. Testing requirements are to ANSI and ASTM standards.

TCEQ approved CEUs are earned from meeting attendance providing TCEQ credit toward BPAT license renewal. After meeting the required prerequisite and attending the 8-hour Hands-On training, all 24 hours are obtained for BPAT license renewal. Some members may also, depending on the training program, earn credit toward other
water licenses as well, such as water/wastewater, irrigation, CSI, etc.

An evening meal is served at each meeting from Jan. – Nov. at 5:30pm. This is combined with fellowship and shared knowledge from others in all water related fields, such as water/wastewater, fire, plumbing, irrigation, enforcement.

State/local updates on rules and regulations are provided from Chapter members who regularly attend other organizational meetings with the TCEQ, PHCC, SAIA, ABPA Nat., etc.

All active members have the opportunity to serve on ABPA-SA Board of Directors.

Member support in the backflow prevention and cross connection control field is available at the local and state level. Member benefit also includes company owners profiting from additional recognition opportunities.
